Preparation & Installation Tips

1. Unfold the awning protector and lay it flat on a clean surface.
2. To improve flexibility, place the protector in direct sunlight or gently warm the vinyl using a hair dryer.
3. Carefully straighten any folds along the poly cord sleeve. Awavy or uneven sleeve may make it difficult to feed the polycord through.
4. Slowly and gently straighten the coiled poly cord. This process is easier if the cord is warmed using hot water or a hair dryer.
5. Smooth the cut end of the poly cord and remove any sharp edges or burrs. This will prevent the cord from catching on the vinyl sleeve during installation.
6. When feeding the poly cord through the sleeve, applying a small amount of soapy water along the cord can help reduce friction and ease insertion.
7. The internal pull string is provided to assist with threading the poly cord through the sleeve. To prevent the string from slipping off the cord, you may carefully make a small cut or notch in the poly cord so the knot can securely grip it while pulling through.
