How to select the correct size for a replacement caravan awning fabric?

January 8, 2025 0 By RVSUNSHADES

Selecting the correct size for your replacement caravan awning fabric is essential to ensure a proper fit and functionality. Follow these steps to determine the appropriate size:

Caravan awning fabric measurement

  1. Measure the Awning Barrel Length:
    • Measure the length of the awning barrel (inside cap to cap) on your caravan. Use a tape measure to take this measurement in millimetres or inches. As long as the fabric sits within 2 end caps with approx 50mm on each end, that is the ideal size. Slightly longer and shorter won’t matter. If there is more than 150mm space on each end, get the next size up.
  2. Determine the Projection:
    • Measure the distance the awning extends outward from the caravan when fully deployed, from the top spline to the outer spline on the barrel.
  3. Consider Extra Features:
    • If you intend to use anti-flap bars, secure tie down etc. Make sure you leave approx 50mm on each end at least.
  4. Consult with Experts:
    • If you are unsure about the measurements, contact us to verify the correct size for your caravanโ€™s awning via email, and provide us with your existing fabric dimensions, and space on both ends, projection length, and if you have annex wall panels etc relevant information.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your replacement awning fabric fits perfectly, enhancing your caravanโ€™s usability and appearance.

IMPORTANT:

This product is compatible with OEMs but may have dimensions that differ from the original. If you do not have annex panels specifically designed for the original awning, our vinyl fabric can be used provided that the barrel can accommodate the full fabric length and the projection is sufficiently close.

Please review the detailed specification section on the listing page carefully to confirm that the fabric dimensions are compatible with your requirements.

If you already have annex wall panels, any dimension discrepancies could affect their compatibility. It is your responsibility to ensure that our specifications meet your needs. If you are uncertain, we recommend refraining from making a purchase.
